MagSafe charger is ideal for travel
Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro Portable is a simple and useful portable charger for iPhones from the iPhone 12 onwards. It looks like an oversized Apple Watch charger, with a dome–shaped puck and a USB–C charging cable that at 2m long is ideal for travel or home charging, and which is twice the miserly 1m of Apple’s MagSafe Charger. As with Apple’s option you’ll need a charger plug to power it.
What differentiates this charger from Apple's one is the integrated metal stand, which feels solid and enables you to prop up your phone in portrait or landscape mode. The portrait angle is much shallower because of the location of your iPhone’s magnets, but that wasn’t a problem; in fact, we found portrait mode very comfortable for tapping on our chargin phone. You can also lay the puck flat if you prefer.
We tested on an iPhone 13 Pro with an official Apple silicone case and found the Belkin clamped on to it nicely. And while 15W isn’t as fast as simply using a Lightning cable, it’s a lot more convenient in general use.
For an extra $21 over Apple’s $39 asking price, the longer cable and integrated stand make the Belkin the better buy.
