Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC: Feature–rich, though costly — how do they stack up?

At $300, Klipsch's first noise-canceling true wireless headphone are a pricey contender in the premium headphone market - $50 more then the AirPods Pro.

Visually, the T5 II ANC's impress, with a neat gunmetal case and matching headphones. Designed in the US, the chunky metal case and side-hinge is reminiscent of a Zippo. A silicone base gives it solid grip when placed down. On the inside a three-bar light shows the case's remaining charge.

While the headphones aren't that stylish, they work - a generous six pairs of tips means it's easy to get a snug fit, with the unit sitting flush in the ear canal. Passive noise-canceling is very good, but active noise cancelation reduces ambient sounds even further. It's effective, but not AirPods Pro effective, and while transparency is good, it's not stellar.

There are some neat tricks: gesture control (nod to accept calls, for instance), and Sidekicks, which automatically turns on ANC when music starts, and switches to transparency when pausing, or taking a call. It's clever stuff. Downsides? No audio auto-pausing when removing them.

The audio is well rounded with a slight emphasis on the low end, though never overpowering. They can cope with all kinds of music, never distorting even when things get heavy. There's plenty of detail and good stereo seperation.

Battery life with ANC on was 4:20 hours, so a little less than the claimed 5 hours. That said, recharge time was just 44 minutes, despite no fast charging.
