Logitech C922 Pro HD: A decent, if costly, upgrade over the FaceTime HD Camera
The Logitech C922 Pro HD webcam has omnidirectional mics on the sides around the camera lens, an integrated mounting clip, auto light correction, autofocus, 78–degree field of view, plug–and–play compatibility, and Logitech Capture software for Mac.
The webcam works by plugging it into your Mac’s USB–A port and selecting it — autofocus and light correction happen automatically. If you're a content creator, the Logitech Capture software, which recently added Mac support, has neat touches such as support for up to two webcam sources, broadcast streaming on your chosen platform, and settings customization. You can save up to six profiles, so you could have one for streaming, one for work, and so on.
There are two ways to mount the C922 Pro HD to your laptop or monitor: using the integrated mounting clip or the tabletop tripod. The tripod that it comes with has a swivel mount and the option to find the most flattering angle and height for your broadcast. When you don't need it, it folds down easily, making it great for travel.
In terms of video quality, the 1080 picture is pretty good, and will be an improvement in crispness if you have a laptop with 720p camera, but the C922 Pro HD tends to over compensate in darker scenes by over exposing them, making colors look a bit washed out. Audio quality is average, so we'd certainly recommend a standalone USB mic if you want good sound output.
One possible issue is that there’s no privacy cover, but you might not need this.

A decent webcam upgrade, but it's up against stiff competition from superior webcams.
